Wheaton College:
Founded in 1860, Wheaton College is a highly-ranked, private liberal arts college and graduate school with 2400 undergraduate and 500 graduate students.  The Meyer Science Center on campus is a state-of-the art educational and research facility for Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Geology, Applied Health Science, and Environmental Science, featuring the largest observatory and telescope in the Chicagoland area.  Since 2010, several colleges and universities in the U.S. have emulated the design of the Meyer Science Center, which integrates spaces for study and research to facilitate learning and interaction.
Liberal arts colleges, like Wheaton College, are a primarily American model for academic institutions that distinguish themselves by their smaller size, emphasizing undergraduate study in the liberal arts and sciences, promoting faculty-student interaction and undergraduate mentorship in research.  Wheaton College is a non-denominational Christian college known for integration of faith and learning.
